Why Become a MAIA Member or Donate?
The work that MAIA does for Motor Avenue depends heavily upon the financial support provided by its members. These sponsorship levels allow us to achieve the necessary financial support to continue advocating for and serving the community. The Motor Avenue Improvement Association is a registered non-profit organization that is unaffiliated with the city and, as such, incurs the costs of registration, insurance, and daily operation.
Your membership dues go toward community programs like tree planting and maintenance, sidewalk cleaning, and garbage pick-up services, curbside dog bags, public art, and other street improvement and beautification projects. We have also been working diligently to bring the Motor Ave Farmers' Market to you each Sunday and are still working on community garden space for the neighborhood.
Member businesses can benefit from the exposure provided on our advertising and outreach materials.
All association members receive discounts and special offers from member businesses.
Contributions also help us advocate for projects that are beneficial to the whole community, specifically Motor Avenue as well as the surrounding area. Together we have a stronger voice to direct commercial and residential developments, as well as community parks and transportation oriented developments along the new Exposition rail line.
The livability of Motor Avenue can be greatly enhanced through concerted efforts to improve practical aspects of the street such as lighting, alley and sidewalk damage, bus shelters, trees, crosswalks, and more. We strive to assess the needs and desires of the community and bring these improvements to Motor Avenue.
