QUESTION AND ANSWERS REGARDING THE MAIA RFP:
Q: Are we still eligible to submit a proposal even though we didn’t make it to the pre-bid meeting on December 13th?
A: Yes.
Q: Am I reading this RFP correctly? We are to charge a fee of $5.00 per car and pay a concession fee to MAIA?
A: The $5.00 amount was meant to be a benchmark price and the Concessionaire may propose another price.
Q: What is the procedures for retrieval of vehicles after hours?
A: As stated on page 16 of the RFP: "The valet company is responsible for providing a telephone number for arranging the retrieval of a vehicle after hours. The telephone number of the valet company shall be printed on the claim ticket with a disclaimer that vehicles may be cited if they are not picked up by 8 a.m. The valet company may not charge the vehicle owner any additional fees or charges for pick-up after hours."
Q: what is the main reason for switching from the previous company servicing your location?
A: We did not have a valet program in place before this RFP.
Q: Where is currently the retrieval area after hours?
A: We are just commencing our valet program so the retrieval location is to be decided after choosing a vendor.
Q: On average, how many vehicles per week that were left after hours?
A: We did not have a valet program in place before this RFP and therefore have no data for this question.
Q: Could we get car counts info. for the past one year? If it's possible broken down by average each day.
A: We did not have a valet program in place before this RFP and therefore have no data for this question.
Q: Could we get the current employee schedule?
A: We did not have a valet program in place before this RFP and therefore have no data for this question.
Q: Page 4: The IMAN Cultural Center reserves the right to exclude CONCESSIONAIRE’s service for special events. The list of Special Events will be provided after a vendor is selected. Would this be during operating hours of Wednesday - Sunday from 6pm - 11pm? If that's the case, does Concessionaire receive a credit from the monthly rent?
A: The special events for the IMAN Cultural Center may conflict with the operating hours of the valet station and will credit the Concessionaire for those nights. MAIA will work with the valet to find a suitable replacement lot for those nights.
Q: Is there additional City license fee for valet aside from the city business license fee?
A: Yes.
Q: What current signage or marketing efforts are in placed to advertise the availability of this valet service? Does MAIA own the signs?
A: There is no current signage. Concessionaire is to provide their own signage but MAIA will extend marketing efforts to advertise for the availability of this valet service.
Q: What type of lighting are at the IMAN Cultural Center lot and who pays for electricity?
A: There is adequate night lighting at the IMAN Cultural Center and the Concessionaire will not have to contribute to electricity fees.
Q: What are the reasons for putting this project out to bid?
A: We would like a valet program for the local restaurants and nightlife considering the area has limited available parking.
Q: Do you currently have a valet service?
A: We did not have a valet program in place before this RFP.
Q: If so, are you able to send me the figures of the average # of cars that are being parked?
A: We did not have a valet program in place before this RFP and therefore have no data for this question.
Q: Is there a parking attendant that is monitoring the parking lot and charging for self parking from drive in customers?
A: No
Q: If not, would this idea be open to the association in combination with the valet service?
A: We are open to that idea.
