10329 W. Palms Blvd
The Motor Avenue Improvement Association is working with local stakeholders and developers to guide the sustainable and community-oriented development of this currently empty lot. The currently proposed project is viewed as too large and obstructive, and poses many problems when it comes to parking and traffic congestion. The developer has not addressed these issues or offered to alleviate them as part of their project. Our goal is a more viable, neighborhood-scale development with cooperation and input from the developer and the community.
Recently the developer filed to build another project due to the controversy of the initial plans; we are working on acquiring these new plans.
In related news, the city is considering establishing a new park at 10234 W. National Blvd, formerly the site of old Fire Station #43. Recent community meetings have agreed that the park should have a two-floor community center as part of its facilities. This park would be directly across the street from the proposed Exposition Line station at Motor and National. The local councilman is in favor of this new park location.
