Educating the Community Through Green Events!
The Motor Avenue Improvement Association strives to encourage sustainable habits and environmentally conscious practices. We specialize in organizing green events that educate the community about the benefits of living a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. In the past year, MAIA has planned and executed events that focus on alternative forms of transportation and access to fresh produce. MAIA is well equipped to work with other environmentally-based organizations interested in creating similar activities.
Motor Avenue Farmers Market and Urban Garden Program
MAIA developed a Farmers Market for the Palms community. Each week, MAIA maintains a weekly Farmers Market on Motor Ave and National Blvd. The Farmers Market ensures that the Palms neighborhood and surrounding communities have access to farm-fresh produce. The Market supplies the community with fruits, vegetables, and organic goods. In partnership with our Nutrition and Wellness, Farm Fresh Education Program, the Market delivers valuable lessons about the advantages of choosing fresh produce.
